NMR Sensors for liquids
LiquidVoxel™ is an NMR sensor system that enhances sensitivity and signal strength of NMR measurements for liquid samples. Due to a higher S/N ratio, this results in a significant reduction in work time.
LiquidVoxel™ is designed as a Helmholtz double microcoil detector system. Our proprietary wirebond chip technology yields advanced passive shimming and achieves excellent B1 homogeneity and power efficiency. Susceptibility matching of the employed materials allow ultralow linewidths of below 1 Hz.
The sensor is available either in single-channel or double-channel configuration for different magnetic nuclei (1H, 13C, 14N, 17O) and magnetic B1 field strengths (40 MHz up to 780 MHz). It is characterized by a high spectral resolution (spectral linewidth < 1 Hz @ 500 MHz) and is particularly suited for small sample volumes (1 μL).
The liquids are isolated from the sensor system via sterile glass sample inserts that can be discarded after measurement which allows a highly efficient and effective way of measuring.
In addition to liquid characterization the sensor may also be used for MRI applications. Within the measurement area of its sample holder (0.95 mm²) imaging with a minimum voxel size of smaller 10 μm can be performed with the same sensor system.
HOW IT WORKS
The LiquidVoxel™ detector system uses separate transparent insert chips to contain the sample. These play a similar role to that of conventional NMR tubes, separating sample from detector. The insertion of the insert chips into the sensor system takes only a few seconds and renders measurement efficient. Alternatively, also a flow-through arrangement for continuous flow measurements may be ordered
INSERTABLE SAMPLE HOLDER
The LiquidVoxel™ detector system uses separate transparent insert chips to contain the sample that play a similar role to that of conventional NMR tubes. The inserts separate sample from detector and their standard format may be customized in size and shape upon demand. The insertion of the insert chips into the sensor system takes only a few seconds and renders measurement efficient.
ADAPTATIONS FOR DIFFERENT SYSTEMS
This exciting product enables augmented (hyphenated) NMR on small samples in a flow-through arrangement. We offer probehead adaptations for various vendor systems (Bruker, JEOL, Oxford Instruments, Agilent) as shown above (rotated 90°).

SET-UP IN MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT
The Helmoltz detector system (with its insertable sample holder) is delivered together with a transparent PCB module that contains the tuning electronics and connectors to the probehead. This PCB holder can be plugged into the probehead (we offer probehead adaptations for major NMR manufacturers such as Bruker, JEOL, Oxford Instruments and Agilent) which is then inserted into the NMR equipment (see picture on the left)

We deliver Voxalytic MACS inserts for different magnetic nuclei (1H, 13C, 15N, 19F, 17O, etc.) and magnetic B0 field strengths (40 MHz up to 900 MHz) and the Solid State NMR rotor diameter above 2.5 mm. We do, however, offer customization services to suit customer requirements.
